Srinagar, Dec 23: Ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi urged officers to enhance surveillance on anti-national elements and increase area domination in their respective regions.
Presiding over a joint security review meeting at the PCR Kashmir, attended by senior police officers and CRPF officials, the IGP emphasized the need for proactive security measures to strengthen the security grid and ensure smooth, hassle-free events.
Birdi urged officials to adopt measures that would enhance security and prevent any disruptive activities that could threaten peace and stability. He also directed district SSPs to ensure smooth traffic flow, especially during the festival period.
The meeting focused on reviewing the preparedness and arrangements in place for the winter season and the upcoming events. Additionally, the IGP reviewed security measures for vital installations and highway domination.
He urged officers to remain vigilant, maintain coordination with various agencies, and strategize to overcome security challenges.
The meeting was attended by IG CRPF (SOS), JD IB Srinagar, DIGs of Kashmir Zone Police, DIG Armed Kashmir, DIG CRPF South Srinagar, DIG BSF Srinagar, DIG ITB J&K, SSP PCR Kashmir, district SSPs, DC SB Srinagar, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, SSP CID CIK, SSP Traffic City Srinagar, SSP APCR, SSP Railways, SSP Security, SP PC Srinagar, and other senior officers.
