Srinagar, Oct 21: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference chief spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq on Monday said the Omar Abdullah-led government is dedicated to enhancing and expanding sports infrastructure throughout Jammu and Kashmir.
He said this while addressing an enthusiastic crowd at the grand finale of the Bul Bul Shah Cricket Tournament 2024 at the Shaheed Aga Syed Mehdi Memorial Sports Stadium in Budgam. He presented the winners’ trophy to the Sheikh-ul-Alam Sheikh Pora cricket team following their thrilling victory against Sher Dil Palar, the party said in a statement.
In his address, Tanvir expressed his intention to discuss the much-needed upgrade of the sports stadium with the Chief Minister and the respected Member of Parliament from Srinagar, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi.
“It is imperative that we enhance sports infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, and the government is fully committed to addressing the deficiencies in sports facilities across the region with utmost urgency,” he said. .”I firmly believe that Jammu and Kashmir is brimming with talent, and it is our responsibility to provide the necessary support, nurturing, and training to help these individuals reach their full potential.”
Sadiq added, “There is no shortage of talent in our region; what is lacking is the proper infrastructure and resources to cultivate and develop this talent effectively.”
