Kolkata, Dec 19: Talented batting all-rounder Chitra Singh Jamwal continued her brilliance with the willow and the ball as Jammu and Kashmir thrashed Arunachal Pradesh by a big margin of 60 runs in the ongoing Women’s U-23 T20 Trophy match at Barasat Ground, Kolkata on Tuesday.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, J&K once again rode on batting brilliance of Chitra Singh Jamwal and valuable knock of skipper Rudrakshi Chib to score a fighting total of 101 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Chitra in particular was in awe-inspiring touch and scored third fifty in the six innings she played so far, besides unbeaten 48 and unbeaten 22 runs.
Chitra top scored with unbeaten 53 runs off equal number of balls studded with 7 delectable boundaries, while Rudrakshi contributed 31 runs off 49 balls with 3 boundaries.
For Arunachal Pradesh, Nabam Para and Tayo Ana claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Arunachal Pradesh 41 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Megha Sharma was the only batter who contributed in double figures, scoring 13 runs.
Speedster Mariya Noorain and leg-spinner Ananaya Sharma were brilliant with the ball, taking 2 wickets each by conceding 7 and 9 runs in their 4 overs respectively, while Chitra Singh Jamwal was the most economical bowler, giving away just 1 run in 3 overs by claiming one wicket. Rudrakshi Chib and Madhu Devi also claimed one wicket each.
