Kathua, Apr 22: The Department of Youth Services & Sports J&K is actively engaged in conducting intramural sports competitions across various schools in all 12 sports zones of Kathua district. These competitions are designed to prepare students for the upcoming zone-level competitions, fostering their athletic abilities and promoting sportsmanship.
Under the meticulous guidance and supervision of Director Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Subash Chander Chhibber, the intramural competitions encompass a wide range of sporting disciplines including kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, chess, and cricket. The participation of students in these events is crucial for their physical fitness, team collaboration, and overall development.
The Departmental officials have invested sincere efforts to ensure the smooth implementation and success of these events. They aim to provide a competitive yet supportive environment that encourages young athletes to showcase their talents, learn from the experience, and nurture their passion for sports.
Director YSS has acknowledged the significance of such initiatives in promoting a culture of sports and physical fitness among the youth. He emphasized the long-term benefits of these intramural competitions in building a strong foundation for students to excel not only in their respective sports but also in life, instilling values such as discipline, perseverance, and teamwork.
“The Department of Youth Services & Sports remains committed to creating opportunities for the holistic development of the students in all the 20 districts of the UT. By organizing these intramural sports competitions, we strive to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among the young population, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie”.
