Shopian, Dec 03: To promote growth and inclusiveness, both in reference to Social Security and also co-curricular activities, the Department of Social Welfare, Shopian on Sunday organised a one day Cricket Match for specially disabled persons at Batapora Stadium.
The event was organised to mark the International Day of Disability and spread the message of happiness and promote the importance of working towards an inclusive society.
The specially abled people were divided into two teams. Team Hilal batted first and scored 130 runs. while chasing the target Team Khurshid scored only 90 runs. Rouf Ahmad of Team Hilal with 31 runs and 3 wickets was declared as Man of the Match .
The trophies were presented to winning team, runner up team and Man Of the Match.
Number of spectators including DSWO Shopian, Ibrar Mirza, TSWO Farhana Tak, and other staff had gathered to watch this cricket match.
The specially abled people thanked the Department for supporting them on various platforms.
