Katra, Jan 19: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Sunday hosted a dynamic day-long academic exchange program, bringing together faculty and students from the School of Biotechnology (SoBT) and the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu.
The event focused on advancing interdisciplinary learning and fostering collaborative research in biotechnology and biochemical engineering. Under the leadership of Dr. Mithu, Head of the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering at IIT Jammu, the session highlighted the department’s upcoming M.Tech program in Biomedical Devices, as well as its commitment to innovation and industry-oriented research. Discussions on potential collaborations, including joint research projects, student exchange programs, and faculty development initiatives, set the stage for future partnerships between SMVDU and IIT Jammu. The event was organized with the support of Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Honourable Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, who emphasized the importance of innovation and interdisciplinary learning in fostering academic excellence.
