Jammu, May 04: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Marh, Surinder Kumar on Sunday exhorted students to aim high, saying the sky is the limit for the meritorious and those striving for achieving academic excellence.
“The path to success is not easy, but with perseverance, determination and firm belief in self, the talented ones can overcome any challenge that comes their way, be it academics or any other field,” Kumar said at a felicitation ceremony, organised at Government High School Mandal to honour the meritorious students, who had outstanding performance in the Board Examination in Marh Constituency.
The MLA said only those students who have concentration and willpower towards studies score top marks. They not only lay strong foundations for their academic odyssey but also bring laurels to their parents, teachers and the soil they belong to, he said.
Complementing the achievers, Surinder acknowledged their resilience and determination in setting their goals and working to achieve success. “The success of the meritorious students is not only due to their hard work, but the support system and dedication of their parents and teachers. But for their strong backing, it would not have been possible to achieve such a big success,” he said, adding, “If there is no direction, we cannot achieve the goal. Parents and teachers are the foundation of life, always respect them.”
The MLA said parents play an important role in taking youngsters forward. He said earlier parents used to tell children what to study, but today children themselves decide what they want to study.
Kumar showered special praise on the girl students, who outshone the boys with their outstanding performance in the 10th and 12th class exams, saying this is an indication of a vibrant and prosperous future generation. He asked the meritorious students to help fellow students do well in their careers.
The MLA congratulated the students for their achievements and advised them to maintain good habits, principles and moral character, which are key to progress and prosperity. He wished them success in their future careers.
The ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including the School Principal, Surekha Raina, Vice Principal Rajinder Singh Sandhu, Mandal President Amarjeet Kaur, former Sarpanch Balbir Kumar, Mandal General Secretary Bunty Sharma, Chowki Incharge Balbir Singh, teachers and other prominent members of the community.
