SKUAST, KVK Budgam inaugurate E-MDP programmes

SKUAST-K, KVK Budgam jointly inaugurated 03 E-MDP Programmes sponsored by MSME, Govt. of India today on 22-10-2024.
The 03 E-MDP Programmes namely- (i) Decision Support System in agriculture and Allied Sciences (ii) Precision Farming: Their Tools and Techniques and (iii) Remote Sensing, GIS, DSSAT as a Tool for Research in Agriculture and Allied Sciences are Coordinated by Chief Scientist and Head, KVK Budgam (Dr. Bilal Ahmad Lone), Dr. Sabia Akhter (Scientist Agronomy) and Dr. Shazia Ramzan (Scientist Soil Science).
The joint inaugural function was carried out at KVK Budgam along with 75 students of Govt. Degree College – Soibugh. The Chief Guest Principal of GDC, Prof. S. Zahida Deva, underlined the adoption of modern technologies like vegetable processing, mushroom cultivation and organic farming for employment generation.
Dr. Bhinish Shakeel (Scientist Home Science) highlighted the importance of MSME Programmes for generation of Skill for the Youth. The Chief Scientist and Head, KVK Budgam (Dr. Bilal Ahmad Lone) gave the general overview of the 03 E-MDP Programmes to the participants and highlighted the role of DSSAT, Precision Farming and GIS for increasing the agricultural production and food Security. Dr Sabia Akhter and Dr. Shazia Ramzan (Training Coordinators) talked about the Precision Farming and GIS. Dr. Ambreen Nabi (Scientist Vegetable Science) presented the welcome address and Dr. Shazia Ramzan Proposed the Vote of Thanks.
