Srinagar, Dec 12: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir Tuesday commenced a weeklong training program on ‘Advanced Data Analysis Skills in Science and Business Management’ for the students of Central University of Kashmir.
The training is organised by the SKUAST-K’s Division of Social and Basic Sciences, Faculty of Forestry, Benhama, in collaboration with the CUK’s Department of Law, School of Legal Studies under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India.
Dean School of Legal Studies, Prof Farooq Ahmad Mir, underscored the pivotal role of encouraging participants to become job providers and provided a comprehensive overview of the training program, emphasizing the significance of data analysis skills in contemporary sciences and business sectors. Program Coordinator, Dr M Iqbal Jeelani gave overview on various aspects of the training program, placing a strong emphasis on its hands-on approach. Head, Division of Social & Basic Sciences, Prof. S Naseem Geelani, delivered a detailed insight into the role of Data Science in the modern world and emphasized the importance of data analysis skills in business industries. Dean, Faculty of Forestry, Prof SA Gangoo, guest of honour for the event, stressed the necessity of such programs in promoting the importance of data analysis skills and statistical packages, especially among educated youth. Former, Vice Chancellor, IUST and Chief Guest of the event, Prof Mushtaq A Siddiqi, gave a detailed talk on the importance of data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms in contemporary sciences.
The inaugural event witnessed the presence of teaching and non-teaching staff from the Department of Law, School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir, along with participants from various fields.
