Gurez, Nov 11: A One-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) entitled, “Fish Consumption and Health benefits of eating Fish” sponsored by the Ministry of Macro small Medium Enterprise (MSME) was organized by Division of Post-Harvest Technology, Faculty of Fisheries, SKUAST-K in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Gurez involving young & budding entrepreneurs, college students and other stakeholders.
The programme was aimed at sensitising interested farmers especially the youth to start their own enterprise in the field of Fish processing and value addition. The Programme started with welcome address by Dr. Faisal Rashid programme coordinator while Dr. Tariq Hussain Bhat Head, Post Harvest Technology gave a power point presentation on the role of fish in the human nutrition. Dr. Anayitullah Chesti Head, Division of Aquaculture deliberated on the scope of trout culture in the Gurez area. Various benefits under the ambit of MSME were discussed at length. The feedback of the beneficiaries was also recorded for future course of action.
The beneficiaries desired conduct of such innovative programmes in future as well to get acquainted with the latest technologies and knowhow in fisheries sector. The support and facilitation provided by KVK Gurez was instrumental in succesful conduct of the programme.
