Srinagar, Aug 27: Dry land Agriculture Research Station , SKUAST Kashmir in collaboration with Department of agriculture and farmers welfare, Harwan zone successfully conducted One day capacity Building Programme on “Climate Smart Varieties: A Way forward for sustainable Agriculture” .
According to a statement issued here, the training programme was organised by Dr Mehfuza Habib, Professor GPB DARS, Rangreth under Holistic Agriculture Development programme ( project no.15 Rainfed Area development). Dr Mehfuza Habib delivered a lecture on Development of Climate Smart varieties.
The programme witnessed the participation of 50 farmers from nearby areas of Harwan Zone. The event started with welcome address by Dr. Zahida Rashid Associate Professor Agronomy she deliberated upon the climate change and it’s impact on agriculture. The objective of the training was to enhance farmers understanding about climate change and how to build resilience in context to climate change.
