Katra, June 03: Three Archers namely Hrithik Sharma, Amit and Shavej from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, Katra who excelled in the archery events of Khelo India University Games recently held in Lucknow returned with a haul of three medals in compound event met Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
As many as 05 Archers trained and groomed at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, Katra participated in the Archery Compound event of Khelo India University Games and won team silver, mixed team silver and individual bronze medals. These archers have been trained under the guidance of Kuldeep Vedwan, Archery Coach at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, Katra.
The Chief Executive Officer while applauding these archers also congratulated the coach Kuldeep Vedwan for his expert coaching, hard work and dedication due to which the archers and para-archers from SMVD Sports Complex were able to secure medals at National and International Levels. He exhorted that the Shrine Board under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor, JK-UT is committed to encourage the youth and provide them a platform to showcase their talents, as Sports Complex is being developed as a centre of excellence and impressed upon the sportspersons to take optimum benefit from the state-of-the-art equipment and other facilities made available at the Sports Complex.
Among those present on the occasion were Vipan Bhagat, Asstt. CEO, SMVDSB, Coach and Archers from SMVD Sports Complex.
