Srinagar, Dec 16: Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Thanamandi, Inspector Hilal Azhar was on Saturday felicitated for busting an interstate gang of highway robbers who were involved in ten highway robbery cases in Jammu district.
A program was organized at RPHQ Rajouri to felicitate the officer who has played an exemplary role while discharging his duties and in coordination with Jammu police, a police spokesperson said. He said Inspector Hilal acted swiftly and got the recovery of vehicles used for the commission of crime as well as tracked down the accused persons and facilitated their arrest through the concerned police.
The accused persons were found to be involved in the following cases. 1) FIR No: 368/2023, 2) FIR No: 380/2023, 3) FIR No: 430/2023 & 4) FIR No: 437/2023 U/S 392 IPC of PS Nagrota, 5)FIR No: 110/2023 U/S 392/323/ IPC, 4/25 A. Act of PS Gangyal, 6)FIR No: 88/2023 U/S 457/392/34 IPC of PS Manjakote, 7) FIR No: 280/2023 U/S 392/458/34 IPC, 8) FIR No: 317/2023 U/S 392/458/34 IPC of PS Domana, 9)FIR No: 149/2023 U/S 392 of PS Vijaypur and 10) FIR No: 239/2023 U/S 392 IPC of PS Jajjar Kotli.
For his dedication and devotion towards his duties, the officer was granted a Commendation Certificate Class-I along with a cash reward of Rs 10,000 by the Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Jammu, Anand Jain, IPS. This certificate was presented by Dr M. Haseeb Mughal, IPS DIG RP Range in the presence of Additional SP Rajouri Vivek Shekhar, DySP Hqr Muddasir Ahmed, Sunil Kumar Dhar Private Secretary to DIG RP Range and other staff members of RPHQ Rajouri.
The DIG RP Range while complimenting the officer on his achievement said that timely reward for the good work by the department will inspire many field officers to the better performance in the coming days. He thanked the IGP JZ for acknowledging and rewarding the field officers for their good work.
