Jammu, Apr 09: Households in seven villages of Ramnagar area of Jammu region are still without electricity, the govt informed in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
While replying to a question by MLA, Dr Sunil Bhardwaj, the government informed that few households in villages namely Kirmoo, Bhathari, Kaghote, Trilla, Sermanzia, Khaned and Sia Mehri, are without electricity.
The government also informed the House that metered consumers are billed based on the actual meter consumption/reading, and in case of the unmetered consumers, the bills are prepared on a flat rate basis determined by the sanctioned load as per the tariff order of J&K.
The government also said that unscheduled power cuts, occasional disruptions occur sometimes due to system faults and these system failures are promptly addressed and restored at the earliest.
The govt also said that SLDC curtailment is implemented to maintain grid discipline. The govt will provide free 200 units of electricity to all AAY households under the domestic category, integrated with the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijlee Yojna (PMSGMBY).
