Srinagar, June 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Judo Association has announced selection trials for cadet judokas from the Kashmir Province. The trials, to be held at the Indoor Sports Hall Polo Ground in Srinagar, will take place on 13th June 2023 at 03:00 pm. Aspiring judokas who wish to participate in the National Cadet Judo Championship must attend these trials.
Abdul Hamid Khan, Vice-President of the J&K Judo Association, issued a handout detailing the requirements for participation. Cadet judokas, both boys and girls, aged between 15 years and 18 years (born between 2006, 2007, 2008) are eligible to take part in the selection process. Those interested in competing must bring passport size photographs, a Date of Birth Certificate, and an Aadhaar card.
Successful candidates from the selection trials will proceed to the final selection trials for the National Cadet Judo Championship, scheduled to be held in Jammu. The selected judokas will represent the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the prestigious tournament, set to take place at the Inspire Institute of Sport in Karnataka from 5th July to 10th July 2023.
The trials, conducted under the auspices of the J&K Sports Council, offer young judokas an opportunity to showcase their skills and compete at the national level. For further information, interested players can contact Abdul Hamid Khan, Vice President, at 9419094155, Gowhar Khan, Joint Secretary, at 7006933154, or Shafkat Shafi, NIS Senior Judo Coach, at 70066 17816.
