Srinagar, Feb 26: Commending the collaboration among the forces in Jammu and Kashmir, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir, Rashmi Ranjan Swain on Monday said that leading the force in Jammu and Kashmir is a matter of immense pride and maintaining law and order, protecting lives, and investigating terror financing are formidable tasks in the region.
In an interview with Odisha based news channel ‘OTV’ in Rourkela city, J&K Police DGP Swain said Pakistan is keeping tabs on every single individual and who is doing what in villages. In this context, ensuring law and order, safeguarding lives, and investigating terror financing become particularly challenging,” he said.
DGP Swain said countering the anti-India narrative and engaging in legal battles pose persistent challenges. The post-abrogation era of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir is historic and leading the force and collaborating with the Army and Paramilitary forces to shape a new chapter is truly a matter of pride,” he said.
About challenges in working in J&K, he said being a border state with a history of a difficult neighbor like Pakistan, the challenges are quite tough.
“The diverse terrains, with valleys where entire brigades can get lost, make the work even more demanding. Despite these difficulties, I stay motivated by adhering to a set of values and putting in all my energy to fulfil my duties,” he said.
About his first journey to Rourkela after assuming his charge, DGP RR there is resilience in the middle-class families in the country. “I come from a family with strong values, typical of ordinary Odias who are known for their ethical and cultural traits ingrained in our DNA, ” he added.
