Pune, May 27: Salvatore International School, Sumbal, has once again brought pride to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir by securing gold and silver medals at the WAKO India National Children’s and Cadets Kickboxing Championship. The event, organized by the Maharashtra Kickboxing Association, took place at the Shri Shiv Chatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex in Pune.sss
Waqas Hafiz and Muneeb Zahoor, representing Salvatore International School, triumphed in the Light Combat category. Hafiz won the gold medal against competitors from Haryana, while Zahoor secured the silver medal against contenders from Punjab.
Ms. Haya Qazi, Chairwoman of Salvatore International School, praised the students’ achievements, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to holistic development. “Since its inception, our school has promoted a balanced approach to education that includes not only academics but also sports and extracurricular activities, fostering essential life skills from an early age,” she stated.
This recent success adds to the school’s impressive track record in national sports tournaments, including a previous silver medal at the Wako India Open International Tournament held in New Delhi.
