Gowhar Sheikh, Cluster Head of Axis Bank’s Kashmir cluster, said that the branch had already started operations and was now being formally inaugurated.
“IAxis Bank is among the top three largest private sector banks in the country. We have a network of approximately 6,000 branches across India and a global presence, including in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, etc,” he said.
He further said that the Kulgam branch would offer both deposit and loan and other facilities. He said that the bank has hired local staff and expressed his gratitude to the minister for inaugurating the branch.
Anayat Nazir, Branch Head of Axis Bank Kulgam, said, “We have visited the market and received excellent feedback. We are hopeful that this positive response will continue,” he said.
Speaking to reporters after the inauguration, Sakeena Itoo said, “The opening of an Axis Bank branch is a good initiative. Many times, when people travel outside, withdrawing money from other banks becomes difficult. Axis Bank provides facilities and cards that help to do transactions,” she said.
