Srinagar Nov 22: It was a tough game for Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) and defending champions Gokulam Kerala FC but both teams played out a goalless draw in Hero I-League match 2022-2023 on Tuesday at Synthetic Turf TRC Srinagar.
The RKFC and defending I-League champions Gokulam Kerala FC had won both their earlier matches. While on Tuesday, it was an action-packed encounter with chances for both sides but both goalkeepers put in excellent displays to ensure that neither team found the back of the net. Most of the time, it was the RKFC which dominated the game.
Addressing a pre-match press conference RKFC head coach Mehraj Uddin Wadoo said it was a good game. “Players played good football. They created chances but unfortunately we could not convert them into goals. Gokulam Kerala is a good team and defending champions. But I am very much happy that players gave their 100 percent effort that is more important for us. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose or end with a draw but for us it is important players should give their best,” Wadoo said.
He hopes that RKFC plays much better in the next game against Churchill Brothers that is scheduled on November 28.
“In I-League, every team is very competitive so every game is important for us,” he added.
Gokulam Kerala FC coach said it was a difficult match and both teams gave a tough fight. “RKFC is a good team and they were also playing on home ground so it was not an easy game for us,” he added.
