Ganderbal, Jan 26: Residents of Mamer and Cherwan, situated in the Sub Division Kangan, are urging the Jammu and Kashmir Bank to address their pressing need for an ATM facility in their areas. Expressing their concern, locals highlight the inconvenience of traveling more than 5 to 10 kilometers to access ATM services.
Stating that there is currently no ATM between Cherwan and Mammer, residents from Thune, Yachama, Bonibagh, and other neighboring areas emphasize the necessity for an ATM to cater to the needs of the thousands of people residing in the region.
The absence of an ATM in the vicinity forces residents to travel to Ganiwan or Kangan, creating an additional burden on their time and resources. Noting that the nearest Jammu and Kashmir Bank branches are located at Ganiwan and Kangan both at a distance of 5 to 10 kilometers from their areas, locals are urging the bank to address their legitimate demand.
A senior citizen from Mammer stressed the importance of having at least one ATM facility in the region. He emphasized that the provision of such a service would significantly benefit the residents of Mamer, Cherwan, and surrounding areas.
Residents are now appealing to the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, urging him to personally consider their genuine demand. They hope for prompt action and the issuance of orders for the commissioning of ATM facilities in their underserved areas.
