Two separate fire incidents occurred in Churmujroo village and Beerwah main town in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday, resulting in destruction of a residential house, cowshed, Tipper, medical laboratory, gym center, and advocate chamber.
An official from the fire station at Beerwah told Rising Kashmir that they received a call about the fire incident early in the morning. The fire tenders promptly arrived at the spot and successfully brought the fire under control.
“The fire spread to eight shops, causing complete damage to all the equipment in the medical laboratory. The gym center and advocate chamber were partially gutted,” official said.
He said that the estimated property damage from the fire incident in Beerwah is around 80 lakh rupees.
In the Churmujroo village of Beerwah Tehsil, another fire incident took place, resulting in the complete destruction of a cowshed. The windows and doors of a two-story building were also damaged. Additionally, a tipper with registration number JK04 8044 suffered partial damage.
The property damage from the Churmujroo fire incident is estimated to be around 60 lakh rupees.
Adil Mukhtar, resident of Sadipora Beerwah said that he has spent more than 32 lakhs of rupees to start this medical laboratory during the year 2019.
“I have spent all the earnings of my parents and taken the loan from the bank through which i have setup this laboratory near SDH Beerwah, which has been got completed gutted in this fire incident,” Adil said.
He said that in this fire incident, all equipments in my laboratory has been fully damaged. I have also lost my source of income. Now I feel helpless and hopeless.
Adil also appeals to the district administration Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir administration, and the general public of Kashmir for support, so he can rebuild and restart his laboratory.
