Mar15: The fourth day of the B.N. Mullik Memorial All India Police Football tournament saw 28 teams participate in a series of matches. The highly anticipated matches, held at four renowned grounds including Synthetic Turf Ground, Polo Ground, Bakshi Stadium, and Kashmir University, delivered nail-biting moments and exhilarating performances from the players.
At Kashmir University, Vice-Chancellor University of Kashmir Prof Nelofar Khan was the chief guest for the match played between CRPF Women and Manipur Police Women.
Speaking on the occasion, VC Kashmir University thanked J&K Police for organizing the All India Police Football Tournament and selecting the Kashmir University ground among other venues. She added that it was an honor for her to witness the Women’s Football Match. In any competition, there will be winners and losers, however, what’s important is that athletes and teams strive to do their best and learn from both their successes and failures. She stressed that more events should be organized and held at the Kashmir University.
The CRPF Women’s team won the match with a score of 2-0. Three other matches at the same venue were played between Rajasthan Police and Telangana Police, Mizoram Police and Jharkhand Police, and Assam Rifles and Puducherry Police. The match between Rajasthan Police and Telangana Police was won by Rajasthan Police with a score of 4-0. The match between Mizoram Police and Jharkhand Police was won by Mizoram Police with a score of 5-1. The match between Assam Rifles and Puducherry Police was won by Assam Rifles with a score of 10-0.
At Synthetic Turf Ground, the matches were played between Manipur Police and Meghalaya Police, Himachal Pradesh Police and Chandigarh Police, RPF and West Bengal Police, and Odisha Police and Maharashtra Police. Manipur Police won the match against Meghalaya Police with a score of 2-0. Himachal Pradesh Police won the match against Chandigarh Police with a score of 2-1. Despite their best efforts, the match between RPF and West Bengal Police ended in a goalless draw. The match between Odisha Police and Maharashtra Police ended in a draw with a score of 2-2.
At Polo Ground, the matches were played between BSF and Goa Police, Assam Police and Haryana Police, Sikkim Police and CRPF, and SSB and Chhattisgarh Police. BSF won the match against Goa Police with a score of 3-0. Assam Police won the match against Haryana Police with a score of 4-1. The match between Sikkim Police and CRPF ended in a draw with a score of 1-1. SSB won the match against Chhattisgarh Police with a score of 8-0.
At Bakshi Stadium, the matches were played between Tamil Nadu Women Police and J&K Women Police and between Assam Rifles Women and Odisha Police Women. Tamil Nadu Women Police won the match against J&K Women Police with a score of 14-0, and Assam Rifles Women won the match against Odisha Police Women with a score of 3-1.
