Police organises 01-day Volleyball Tournament in Awantipora

Awantipora, Mar 15: In order to inculcate & promote sports spirit among the youth and build healthy Police-Public relations, Police in Awantipora under Civic Action Programme inaugurated 01-day Volley Ball Tournament at Lariyar Tral.
 
08 teams from various places of Police District Awantipora participated in this tournament. At the conclusion of the tournament, the winner team as well as runner up team were felicitated by SSP Awantipora Shri Ajaz Ahmed Zargar-JKPS with Trophies, Medals, Certificates and cash prizes besides, participating certificates among all the participating teams.
 
SSP Awantipora congratulated the winner/runner up teams and expressed that Police is committed to give boost to the sports and other youth development activities in the area and transform/mould the sportsmen in the right direction. He further stated that sports activities are important for personality development, positivity, good health and keeps the individual away from the negative forces.
On the occasion ADC Tral, CO 42RR, CO 180BN CRPF, DySP DAR, SDPO Tral, SHO Tral & other officers were also present.
 
Also, Police in Ganderbal  inaugurated a Volleyball Tournament at Kangan on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS in which 16 teams belonging to different areas of the District will participate.
 
The tournament was inaugurated by ASP Ganderbal FerozYeyha-JKPS who was accompanied by SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan-JKPS. During his inaugural address, ASP Ganderbal appreciated the teams for taking part in the sports event. He also laid stressed upon the young & budding players of the district to allow their minds to explore their own thoughts and imagination through the medium of sports. The inaugural match was played between Chattergul Vs Cheerwan, which was won by Chattergul by 2:0.
 
It is pertinent to mention here that Ganderbal Police is organising different sports events, like volleyball tournament, football tournament, cultural programmes, and other Co-curricular activities in the district for upliftment of sports among the youth. The main aim & motive of organising such events is to develop brotherhood, love, and peace & keeping youth away from the menace of drugs.
Moreover, SHO PS Kangan, SHO PS Gund, SHO PS Sonamarg, and RI DPL, and other senior officers of Police and Civil Department were also present on the said occasion.
