Srinagar, Aug 07: As part of its sustained public outreach efforts, Police in Handwara observed Thana Diwas across all police establishments within the district.As per a statement issued here, these meetings were chaired by the respective jurisdictional officers and saw enthusiastic participation from community representatives, civil society members, trade bodies, and other prominent citizens of the respective areas. During these interactive sessions, participants raised various issues of public concern. The officers assured that all genuine grievances related to policing would be addressed on priority. Issues falling under the purview of civil administration would be promptly forwarded to the concerned departments for timely redressal. Thana Diwas is a flagship initiative of J&K Police aimed at fostering closer police-public relations, enhancing transparency, and providing a dedicated platform for citizens to express their concerns and suggestions. J&K Police reiterated its commitment to community-friendly policing and vowed to continue such people-centric initiatives to build trust, encourage cooperation, and ensure effective and accountable governance.
