Police attach properties of drug smugglers worth lakhs in Baramulla

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday attached properties of drug smugglers worth lakhs in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A Police spokesperson said, “Under the overall supervision of SSP Baramulla Sh Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, Baramulla Police led by Mohd Nawaz-JKPS SDPO Pattan assisted by Inspr. Sarjan Ahmad, SHO PS Pattan attached an under construction house on land measuring 10 marlas at Main Mohalla Pattan belonging to drug Smuggler namely Barakat Ali Main S/O Mohammad Maqbool Main R/O Mian Mohalla Pattan after obtaining legal sanction from competent authorities.”

” The said house was linked to case *FIR No. 84/2023 u/s 8/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Pattan.The investigation proved that the said immovable property was raised/ used for Illicit Trafficking* by the drug Smuggler”, he said.

“Similarly, Baramulla Police led by *Sh.Khalid Ashraf-JKPS SDPO Kreeri assisted by Inspr Arif Hamid, SHO PS Kreeri attached vehicle Hyundai i10 bearing registration number DL2AE-2820 belonging to Abdul Rehman Malik S/O Ghulam Mohd R/O Kalantra Payeen after obtaining legal sanction from the competent authorities. The said vehicle was linked to case FIR No 33/2023 u/s 8/20, 29 NDPS Act of Police Station Kreeri.The investigation proved that the said *movable property was raised/ used for Illicit Trafficking by the drug Smuggler”, he said.

General people of the area hailed the initiative of Baramulla Police with regard to attachment of moveable/ immovable property which has been raised/ used for Illicit Trafficking by the drug smugglers in the district.

People showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship.
