Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday have arrested a rustler and recovered stolen cattle in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Police spokesperson said, “On 28/07/2023, Police Station Kunzer received a written application from Mohammad Maqbool Bhat son of Khaliq Bhat resident of Manglore stating therein that some unknown thieves have stolen away three cattle (Cow, Calf & Ox) from Manglore Kunzer Baramulla.”
“Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kunzer and investigation was initiated”, he said.
The spokesperson said that during the course of investigation, SHO PS Kunzer called many suspects for questioning. With strenuous efforts, one suspect namely Aarif Ahmad Shah son of Jahangir Shah resident of Takiya Batpora was zeroed in and during his questioning he confessed his involvement in commission of crime. On his disclosure, stolen property was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Stolen cattle were handed over to the owner after completion of legal formalities.
