Reasi, Aug 27: Reasi Police on Sunday said it arrested two narco smugglers and seized approximately eight grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics as well as other narcotic substances from them.
SSP Reasi, Amit Gupta (JKPS) while sharing the details said, “During routine naka/patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area at Katra intercepted two persons namely, Sanjay Kumar S/O Puran Chand R/O Dansal, Jammu and Manik Dogra S/O Bodh Raj R/O Ward No. 6 Katra. During checking approx. 08 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics was recovered from their possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotic substance was seized and two persons were arrested. In this regard, a case FIR No. 271/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra.”
The whole operation was led by SHO Police Station Katra Inspector Nishant Gupta under the supervision of SDPO Katra Surinder Singh and the overall supervision of SP Katra Vipan Chandran (JKPS), he said.
The SSP said that Reasi Police is committed to eradicating the menace of drug abuse. He appealed to the people to support the police in its war against drugs. “Any information pertaining to drug peddlers should be shared with District Police on 24×7 helpline number 9070907017 where the identity of the caller is kept secret,” he said.
