Srinagar, July 30: In its continued crackdown against illegal mining activities, Police in Kulgam have seized three vehicles and apprehended three individuals involved in the unlawful extraction and transportation of minerals.A police team led by the In-Charge Police Post (IC PP) Mirbazar at Khrewan, intercepted a JCB and a dumper involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals. The vehicles were seized and their drivers have been arrested.In a similar action, one more vehicle (tractor) was seized at a checkpoint established at Nowpora. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for his involvement in the illicit transportation of minerals.Accordingly, cases have been registered at Police Station Qazigund under relevant provisions of law, and investigation has been initiated.J&K Police urges the general public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or unlawful mineral extraction and transportation activities in their vicinity. The cooperation of community members is crucial in ensuring environmental preservation and strict enforcement of the law.
