Srinagar, June 13: Complying with the commitment of upskilling the education workforce, a three days capacity building workshop organised by the Directorate of Samagra Shiksha under PM SHRI Scheme for resource persons of J&K and UT of Ladakh concluded.
Earlier, the workshop was inaugurated by the Principal Secretary School Education Department, Alok Kumar. Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Rakesh chaired the valedictory session, which was attended by Deputy Director Planning Bilal Rashid, Chief Accounts Officer Mohd Rameez, All chief education officers, of UT of J&K, State coordinator PM SHRI Ashwani Kumar, Coordinators/ Assistant coordinators from Samagra Shiksha, Resource persons of PM SHRI of J&K and UT of Ladakh.
During the workshop, the Master Trainers deployed by the DoSEL, MoE, from National Organisations like NIEPA, AICTE, NCERT, Shikshalokam, Lend A Hand Foundation etc aligned with the education sector delivered their presentations for the sensitization of resource persons and other stakeholders. DR. Gyaneshwary Longzom, Gaurav Borkar, Rohina Aima, Amit Kaushik & Baitanik Ghosh, Younis Beigh, Ms. Paridhi Singh & Ms. Nalini Dhariwal Rawat, Dr. Peeyush Kamal and Dr. Girija among others presented their talks.
Alok Kumarin his address, described the PM SHRI Scheme as a visionary program that aims to encourage young learners’ creativity, critical thinking, and holistic growth by establishing an environment that supports high-quality education.
He restated that 389 schools in Jammu and Kashmir have been designated, as PM SHRI Schools, which are being developed as exemplar cum leader Schools. These schools, will have strong infrastructure and appropriate educational resources and will act as pilot projects for showcasing every element of NEP 2020, he maintained. *Pedagogical advances, infrastructure development, inclusive education and digital integration* shall remain the area of concentration.
PD Samagra Shiksha, informed that, in 3 days workshop, focus was laid on discussing crucial topics. These include the PM SHRI Scheme Action Plan, mental health counselling, digital learning, self-defense training and vocational education, clean and green schools, and many other interventions.
He informed that, Code Mitra platform (on Samiksha) Coding program for educators and learners was also launched.NEP 2020- aligned self-guided interactive courses were made available for Resource persons, to enhance the learning outcomes of the students. The main objective of the workshop was to train resource persons, so that scientific temperament and problem-solving skills may be imparted to the children.
PD Samagra, also informed that, during the workshop, Secretary of DoSEL, Ministry of Education, GoI Sanjay Kumar, addressed the attendees, reiterating the transformative goals of the NEP 2020. He stressed the importance of good infrastructure, skilled and motivated teachers and holistic student development. He emphasized that PM SHRI Schools should become benchmarks for excellence, inspiring all schools across the UT to follow their model.
Participants from both UTs, shared their experience and feedback was received. In the valedictory function, Certificates were distributed among the participants. Deputy Director Planning, thanked all the stakeholders for their cooperation in organising the workshop, especially to the Dr Ashfaq Ahmed Zarri, Joint Registrar Kashmir University for extending all facilitation.
