Srinagar, Sept 09: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday organised a workshop here in preparation for Sewa Pakhwada 2025, a fortnight-long public outreach and welfare initiative scheduled to commence on September 17, marking the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
J&K BJP President Sat Sharma (CA), addressed the workshop. The party’s J&K Vice President Dr Shahnaz Ganie, General Secretaries Anwar Khan and Gopal Mahajan (Abhiyan Incharge), State Secretaries Mudasir Wani and Arif Raja, and State Office Bearers Adv Sajid Yousuf Shah, Sajad Raina, Sartaj Majeed, Bilal Parray, and others were among the prominent who attended the workshop, the party said in a statement issued here.
District Presidents from across the Kashmir Valley, District Prabharis, and designated in-Charges and Co-in-Charges of the Sewa Pakhwada Workshop attended the workshop.
Sat Sharma, while addressing the workshop, spoke about the importance of Sewa Pakhwada as a platform to directly connect with the people through meaningful service.
“This campaign is not only a tribute to our beloved Prime Minister but also a reaffirmation of the BJP’s core philosophy of ‘Seva, Sushasan aur Gareeb Kalyan’,” he said.
The J&K BJP chief called upon all district and Mandal-level functionaries to make the campaign a resounding success by involving youth, women, and marginalised communities.
Dr Shahnaz Ganie highlighted the role of women and youth in the upcoming campaign. Sewa Pakhwada provides an opportunity to engage women and young volunteers in meaningful service activities. “Their active participation will add new energy to the campaign and help us build stronger grassroots connections,” she said.
Anwar Khan stated that the Sewa Pakhwada is a reflection of the BJP’s commitment to serve every section of society, especially the underprivileged. “It’s not just a campaign, but a movement to ensure that governance reaches the last person in the queue,” he said.
Gopal Mahajan, while explaining in detail, emphasised that Sewa Pakhwada 2025 will begin with a state-wide blood donation drive on September 17, and will encompass a range of welfare activities, including health check-up camps, cleanliness drives, tree plantation, distribution of assistive devices, and awareness programmes.
The objective of the workshop is to ensure well-coordinated and effective implementation of these activities by all BJP Mandal units across the valley, the statement said.
Later, Sat Sharma chaired a meeting with all the cells of the party and called upon them to work for the welfare of society and connect the people with the party.
