PDP’s Zuhaib Mir visits flood-hit areas

Srinagar, Sept 04: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Zuhaib Mir on Thrusday visited flood-prone areas in Panthachowk, Lasjan, and Souteng to assess the situation on the ground amid rising water levels.
During his visit, Mir urged the authorities to take immediate and necessary steps to strengthen the river bunds to prevent further breaches and mitigate the risk of flooding. He called for prompt provision of relief to the affected people, emphasising the need for essential supplies, medical aid, and temporary shelter.
The PDP leader appealed to the authorities to implement significant measures to assist residents in Kursu Rajbagh, Gonikhan, Hari Singh High Street, and Tankipora, where houses have been inundated due to the floods. He stressed the importance of swift evacuation, rehabilitation, and compensation for those impacted.
