Srinagar, Aug 28: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Vice President Mohammad Sartaj Madani chaired an important meeting of the party’s district presidents here. The session focused on strengthening grassroots structures, enhancing public outreach, and expediting the membership drive as the party seeks to deepen its connection with the people, the party said in a statement issued here.Madani conducted a detailed review of party affairs and listened to the feedback and suggestions put forth by district presidents from across the valley. Stressing their crucial role within the organisational framework, he underscored that the strength of the PDP lies in its grassroots workers.“Our district presidents are not just functionaries; they are the bridge between the people and the party. Their voice carries the aspirations of the common man, and our leadership holds their contribution in the highest esteem. The PDP’s future lies in empowering these representatives and expanding our base through meaningful public outreach,” Madani said. The district presidents, while briefing the chair, highlighted challenges in their respective regions and proposed measures for strengthening organisational presence, the statement said, adding that they expressed commitment to reinforcing the PDP’s pro-people agenda and reaching every household with its message.PDP General Secretary Mohammad Khurshid Alam extended gratitude to Madani for his leadership and counsel, describing his guidance as vital for steering the party through testing times. “Sartaj Sahib’s vision has always been people-first and cadre-centric. His direction reminds us that the PDP is not merely a political platform but a movement rooted in people’s trust,” he said. “Under his leadership, our task is to take this movement forward with renewed energy and discipline.”The meeting was attended by key district presidents, including Advocate Javaid (Anantnag), Ab Qayoom Bhat (Srinagar), Rafiq Ahmad Rather (Baramulla), Mohammad Yaseen Bhat (Budgam), Syed Sajad (Bandipora), Zaffarullah (Kulgam), Ajaz Mir (Shopian), Afzal (Kupwara), and Zahoor Ahmad (Ganderbal).
