PAG Football XI are the Winners of 18th Police Martyrs Football Tournament

Srinagar, Jan 19: Principal Accountant General, J&K football Team are the Winners of 18th Police Martyrs Tournament. In the finals of the tournament played at TRC Astro Turf, PAG XI defeated FC-I by a solitary Goal which was scored by Striker of PAG XI Shakir Ahmad in the first half of the match. PAG XI maintained the lead till the end and emerged as Champions of this prestigious tournament. Shakir Ahmad of PAG XI was declared as man of the match and Man of the tournament for his outstanding performance in the tournament.
The presentation ceremony which could not be held on day of finals, was held on 17-01-2023 at TRC Astro turf. The Team PAG XI was facilitated with winning trophy and players/manager/coaches etc with individual medals. The Grand Presentation Ceremony was presided by DGP, J&K and attended by higher authorities of police department, Mayor Srinagar and other dignitaries. From PAG’s side, function was attended by Sh. Ravinder Singh Sr. Deputy Accountant General (Admn), A&E who is also chairman Recreation club PAG, J&K. Sh. Ravinder Singh appreciated the players/management on spot and assured of his full support to team in particular and over all sports activities of the department.
Principal Accountant General J&K, Deputy Accountant Generals and other higher authorities of department congratulated players and management for this achievement and all other achievements made during the year 2022. It may be mentioned here that during 2022, PAG XI won three other major tournaments at Sopore and Srinagar.
