Northern Army Commander visits Siachen, reviews arrangements

Srinagar, July 11: Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar on Thursday visited forward posts at Siachen glacier in Ladakh and asked the troops to remain in a “high state of operational readiness”.
Northern Army Spokesman said that Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, Army Cdr NC, along with GOC Fire and Fury (14th) Corps visited forward posts of Siachen Brigade to review the operational preparedness.
“The Army Cdr appreciated the professional excellence of the brigade and exhorted the troops to remain in a high state of operational readiness to meet all challenges,” he said.
Earlier Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar Amry Cdr NC, Regional President and GOC Leh interacted and complimented the All-Women Motorcycle Rally traversed through the Indus, Hanle Valleys riders for their determination and grit.
The riders now move onto Drass for the final leg of their arduous journey, the spokesman said.
