Srinagar, Apr 08: After three more organisations dissociated from the Hurriyat, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Altaf Thakur on Tuesday said that there is no space anymore for terrorists and separatists in Jammu and Kashmir.
“J&K changed after 2019. In J&K, there is no space anymore for terrorists and separatists. Now, the reflection of peace in J&K after 2019 is being seen. Those who used to chant slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and believed in other things can now feel that it was false propaganda that they used to do at the behest of Pakistan. The money that used to come from Pakistan for their activities, that hawala funding has also stopped after 2019. Today, in a transformed India, in a transformed J&K, there is no space for these things. Tiranga Rally takes place everywhere now,” Thakur told ANI.
In a significant political development, three more organisations–Jammu Kashmir Islamic Political Party, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Democratic League, and Kashmir Freedom Front–have officially severed ties with the Hurriyat Conference.
The move is being seen as a major demonstration of growing public trust in the Constitution of India within the Kashmir Valley.
