JKSSB advertised 10,642 posts in three years

Srinagar, Mar 30: Over 10,642 posts received from various departments by Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) in the last three years are currently under different recruitment stages, with selections of 4294 posts completed, while 4307 posts are at the examination levels. During the last three years, JKSSB has received 10642 advertised posts from various departments. The data shows that out of the total posts, selections have been completed in 4292 posts, and 1163 posts are live advertisements, while a provisional list has been issued for 811 posts. However, 18 posts have been withdrawn or returned to indenting Departments, reads the data, while 4307 posts are at examination level and 49 posts are at selection level. Of the total 10642 posts, 4421 have been advertised for the OM category, 933 for SC, 1058 for ST1, 1013 for ST2, 808 for OBC, 693 for ALC/IB, 734 for RBA and 982 for EWS. According to the details, selection has been completed for 128 posts & 201 posts advertised vide Notification No. 01 of 2013 and 02 of 2023, respectively. “15 posts had been withdrawn by the Social Welfare Department, out of the total 201 advertised posts in Notifications No. 02 of 2023,” it reads. “Further selection process has been completed for 3,980 posts of Constables in the

Home Department, advertised in the year 2024 out of the total 4,002 posts. However, the selection list for 22 posts of Constable (Photographer) has not been finalised. No selections have been completed for the posts advertised during the year 2025. The selection process for 669 posts of Sub-Inspector (Police) could not be initiated earlier due to a court case. As the case now stands disposed of, the OMR-based examination is scheduled to be conducted in June 2026.” “The OMR-based examination for 600 posts of FAA is scheduled to be conducted in June 2026. About 75 posts of Naib Tehsildar advertised vide Advertisement Notice No.05 of 2025, the selection process could not be initiated due to the filing of an O.A. and the maintenance of status quo as directed by the Hon'ble CAT,” it reads. Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission Moreover, a total of 49 advertisement notifications issued by Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) in the last three years include 24 in 2023, 7 in 2024 and 18 in 2025. The details further revealed that the JKPSC has reported pendency against two notifications in the year 2023 in respect of Higher Education Department (129 posts) and Skill Development Department (12 posts) against a total of 1511 posts notified. The pendency is mainly on

account of equivalence issues with regard to qualification which have been taken up with the respective departments. The details reveal that the commission shall make selections as soon as the clarification is received from the concerned departments. “With respect to the year 2024, the posts pending selections with the Commission are from December 2024 in respect of a single notification, which are at the interview stage and shall be finished by the end of May 2026.” About the year 2025, the selection in respect of two notifications is complete and the rest of the notifications are at different stages of selection and will be completed in 2026, it added. The JKPSC has, as of now, a total of 1655 posts under process. Out of these, 1437 bulk posts were received during 2024-25 and are scheduled to be completed in the year 2026. The remaining 218 posts, referred to the Commission in 2023 and earlier, are pending due to various reasons such as Clarifications from the indenting departments regarding eligibility conditions, Court cases, and issues related to the approved syllabus, the data reads, adding that as such, there is no undue delay in finalising selections. “In general, selections are completed within two years from the date of receipt of the indent, which is being reasonably efficient.”
