Srinagar, Apr 05: Jammu and Kashmir received over Rs 24,000 crore less than Budget Estimates in 2024–25, according to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India’s Report on Union Territory Finances for 2024–25.
The report states that revenue receipts were estimated at Rs 98,719 crore, while actual receipts were Rs 74,401.16 crore, resulting in a shortfall of more than Rs 24,000 crore.
It further records that against Revised Estimates of Rs 93,405 crore, actual receipts were lower by about Rs 19,000 crore.
The report states that grants-in-aid from the Centre were lower than Budget Estimates by Rs 13,853 crore.
It also records that Additional Resource Mobilisation, projected at Rs 1,000 crore in the Budget and Rs 4,900 crore in Revised Estimates, was not realised during the year.
The report further shows that capital expenditure was Rs 12,060.06 crore against a Budget Estimate of Rs 25,194 crore.
It also states that revenue receipts fell short of Budget Estimates by 24.6 per cent and Revised Estimates by 20.3 per cent.
