Jammu, Aug 14: J&K BJP spokesperson Ranbir Singh Pathania on Monday said the biggest blunder in Indian history by the powers that be and leaders who were at the helm was the “vivisection” of India into two nations.
Addressing the youth, students and party cadres on ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ at Majalta, Pathania said, “Partition Day reminds us of a dark chapter of history which left millions of innocent people murdered, ravaged, pillaged and displaced. It is a day to remember the resilience and courage of the people of India who still have the courage and conviction to stand and rise as one nation. It further steels us to remove the poison of social divisions and strengthen the spirit of openness.”
He exhorted the students to abide by the panch pran given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The students chanted the Panch Pran thereby creating a captivating atmosphere.
The programme coincided with Tiranga Yatra in Majalta. A massive horde of BJP cadres attired in colourful dresses, and traditional pagris with national flags anointed on their motorcycles, organised a massive tiranga rally with a beeline of scooters, motorcycles and cars through the lanes and roads of Majalta. The rally started early morning from Bharnara via moving from Battal, Manwal, Mansar and concluded at Majalta. They also undertook an on-foot rally where people hailing from all walks of life including intellectuals, retired civil servants, panches, sarpanches and prominent people of the area participated with zeal and fervor.
The noble feature of Monday’s tiranga yatra was that a hundred-foot-long tricolor was carried by hand by the BJP activists through the bazars and boroughs of Majalta.
Pathania on the occasion said, “Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 77th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building. The idea is to invoke a feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian national flag.”
