Srinagar, Jul 30: National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing of veteran party functionary and close associate of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, Mir Qalandar of Karnah.
In their joint condolence message, the duo remembered Mir Qalandar as a dedicated grassroots leader who devoted his life to the service of the people and the ideals of the National Conference. They said his unwavering commitment to public welfare and democratic values left a lasting imprint on the political landscape of Karnah and beyond.
“Mir Qalandar Sahib was among those steadfast companions of Sher-e-Kashmir who carried forward the mission of empowering the people of Jammu and Kashmir. His demise is a great loss to the party and to all those who believed in selfless service and integrity in public life,” the duo said in their message.
They prayed for peace for the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
Senior party leaders, including General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Sharief Ud Din Shariq, MLA Trehgam Mir Saifullah, MLA Lolab Qaisar Jamsheed Lone, and MLA Karnah Javed Mirchal also extended their condolences, remembering Mir Qalandar’s contributions to the party and his role in shaping political awareness in the border region of Karnah.
