Srinagar, Oct 19: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial Vice President and In Charge Constituency Lal Chowk, Ahsan Pardesi on Thursday emphasised door-to-door campaign to reach out to voters calling for massive public outreach programmes.
He said this while addressing a meeting convened by him and presided over by the district president of Srinagar, Peer Afaq Ahmed. Senior VP Province Mohammad Syed Akhoon, Women’s Wing Provincial President Er. Sabia Qadri, Minority Wing Organizer Sardar JS Azad and other office bearers were present on the occasion.
In the meeting, apart from the formation of working committees for Amira Kadal and Lasjan blocks of Lal Chowk constituency, block presidents were also elected. As per the party statement, Muhammad Latif Thakur was nominated as Block President and Hilal Ahmed Parrey was nominated as Block President for Block Amira Kadal while Amir Nazir was nominated as Block President Youth. Party activities, organizational programs, other organizational issues and people’s problems were also discussed in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the party leaders said that the National Conference is the only people’s representative party that can bring the people of Jammu and Kashmir out of the current crisis, but for that, the party must be strong at the grassroots level.
Pardesi in his address urged workers to strengthen their ranks and keep themselves dedicated to the people. “Our door-to-door campaign will highlight the misgovernance by the present regime. BJP is on a losing spree, it has lost its so-called support base in Jammu. In Kargil, it was able to draw more than a few hundred votes. BJP has lost its political ground and relevance across both provinces of Jammu and Kashmir due to its anti-people policies. They had promised a lot to the people of the Jammu province but delivered poorly on the ground.”
Party leaders Dr Muhammad Saeed, Ayesha Jameel, Qaiser Jalali, Moti Singh and other office bearers were also present in the meeting.
