National Arnis Championship 2024 commences at Multipurpose Indoor Hall, Polo Ground

Srinagar, Nov 13: The National Arnis Championship 2024 opened today at the Multipurpose Indoor Hall, Polo Ground, Srinagar. Organized by the Arnis India Federation, this highly anticipated event brings together more than 300 talented athletes from across India. The championship will run from 13th to 15th November 2024.
The opening ceremony was graced by Pirzada Farooq Ahmad Shah, MLA of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, as the Chief Guest. Shah congratulated the organizing committee for hosting the championship and encouraged the players, emphasizing his support for future sporting events in the region. He assured the community of his commitment to promoting and uplifting sports in Jammu & Kashmir.
Also in attendance were Grand Master Jean Claude Calimoutou, Max Carpin, and Pascal Begue, esteemed international coaches in Arnis. Their visit to India, which includes leading a National Arnis Seminar, marks a strategic initiative by Arnis India to elevate the skill levels of its athletes in preparation for the upcoming World Championship in 2026.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Max Carpin expressed his admiration for the athletes, stating, “It’s inspiring to witness the talent and dedication of these players. They have shown exceptional progress, and I am confident they will excel in upcoming international competitions.”
