Jammu, Dec 02: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology, [YCET] and IMS on Friday organised an awareness programme on anti-corruption in which Mayor, Jammu Rajinder Sharma, was the chief-guest. The event started with the welcome address by Er Rajnish Magotra, Hod Civil Department who enlightened the gathering about the theme of the event “Corruption Free India”.
Director YCET, Dr (Prof) Mukesh Kumar Rana presented the bouquet to the chief guest with a warm gesture. Mayor Jammu in his speech spoke about anti-corruption and highlighted the fact that J&K became the first state to require graduation before a person could contest for councilor election.
Addressing the students as the future policy makers, he inspired them to be the torch bearers of the noble initiative and stressed upon the need to inculcate moral values like honesty, loyalty and integrity which will enable them to differentiate between right and wrong and will help them to follow the path of righteousness. He encouraged those present to be the part of the oath ceremony for anti-corruption which is going to be held on December 9, 2022 at Prade Ground, Jammu. His words filled the participants with enthusiasm and courage to fight against corruption.
The event was further preceded with the memento presentation; Director IMS Dr Meenakshi Sharma and Professor J R Dhotra presented the memento to the worthy chief guest as a token of appreciation.
Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions (JGEI), Jammu Chairman Er Vidhi S Singh Jamwal, Vice Chairman Shiv Dev Singh Jamwal and Managing Director Er Renu Bangroo, praised YCET for taking the effort to put on such a deserving event.
