Marh, Satwari, Jammu zones register wins in district level U-17 boys cricket tournament

Jammu, Aug 05: Satwari, Marh and Jammu Zones scripted victories on day-1 of U-17 Boys Cricket Tournament which got underway at Khel Goan Nagrota, here on Saturday.
The Tournament is being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Jammu, under the patronage of Director of Youth Services and Sports J&K, Subash Chander Chibber, under the guidance of Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Suram Chand Sharma and under 
the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
The teams of all fourteen Zones of District Jammu are going to take part in this mega event.
The main aim of this tournament is to select the best team to represent the District for the next level of competition. 
Earlier, in the first match, Marh Zone thrashed Balwal Zone by 10 wickets.
Batting first, Bhalwal Zone scored 91 runs in the allotted overs.
Marh Zone, in reply, chased the target easily without losing any wicket. Manik top scored with brisk 43 runs for Marh Zone, while Akshay contributed 17 runs for Bhalwal Zone.
In another match, Satwari Zone defeated Chowki Choura by a big margin of 89 runs.
Batting first, Satwari Zone scored a good total of 134 runs. Saksham top scored with 69 runs.
In reply, Chowki Choura Zone bundled out for a paltry total of 45 runs. Vansh (10) was the only batsman to reach the double figure mark. 
In yet another match, Jammu Zone got the better of Jourian Zone by 23 runs.
Batting first, Jammu Zone scored a decent total of 109 runs. Tejasmay top scored with 26 runs. Mukesh took one wicket for Jourian Zone.
In reply, Jourian Zone scored 86 runs to lose the match by 23 runs. Sunisha scored 17 runs for Jourian Zone. Arush was the wrecker-in-chief for Jammu Zone, who took 5 important wickets.
The matches were officiated by a panel of experts of the Department.
