Lost in the Journey of Magic: MLA Dooru launches young author’s debut novel

Anantnag, Dec 13: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Dooru, G A Mir on Friday released ‘Lost in the Journey of Magic’, the debut novel by Mir Maryam, a Class 7 student of Saint Xian’s International School Anantnag, during a special event held at GDC Women Anantnag.
In his address, Mir commended Maryam for her exceptional literary achievement at such a young age. He lauded the school’s holistic approach toward education, emphasising how its innovative curriculum fosters creativity, academic excellence and personal development among students.
“Students like Mir Maryam exemplify the power of a nurturing educational environment that encourages young minds to pursue their passions and dreams. It is imperative to support and inspire our student community to shine on national and international platforms, bringing laurels to Jammu and Kashmir,” he remarked.
The MLA expressed his gratitude to the management of Saint Xian’s International School for inviting him to share his thoughts with the students and congratulated the school for cultivating a culture of literary and artistic excellence.
The event concluded with an interactive session where Mir Maryam engaged with the audience, discussing various aspects of her novel and sharing insights into her writing journey. The session inspired students and guests alike, leaving a lasting impression on all present.
Earlier, the event began with a warm welcome address by Dr Fahmeeda Akhter, Principal of Saint Xian’s International School.
