Srinagar, Sept 04: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of State (I/C), Ministry of AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav, for approving 35 postgraduate Ayurveda seats at the Government Ayurvedic Medical College (GAMC) in Akhnoor.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said, “Heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Union MoS (I/C), Ministry of AYUSH, Shri Prataprao Jadhav Ji for granting 35 Ayurveda PG seats for Govt Ayurvedic Medical College, Akhnoor. This is a first for J&K and a huge gift for aspiring Ayurveda practitioners in the UT.”
The introduction of seven new postgraduate degree programs with 35 seats at GAMC Akhnoor is expected to strengthen Jammu and Kashmir’s healthcare framework and promote the traditional system of medicine. Enhanced human resources in Ayurveda practice, research, and collaboration will support the advancement of preventive and holistic care.
