The wildlife department on Thursday late evening had captured a leopard and it’s cub alive in Checkmarg Arizal village of Khansahib Tehsil in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The locals from the Checkmarg Arizal village told the Rising Kashmir that after they saw the leopard roaming in the area, they informed the wild life department, where the leopard and its cub had been caught alive.
Muhammad Yousuf, Block Officer Wildlife Control Room Beerwah, said that after they received the information regarding the presence of the leopard in the area, the wildlife team reached the spot and captured the leopard and its cub alive without injury to anyone.
“We are going to send the leopard to Dachigam National Park, where the wildlife department will properly take care of the leopard cub and her mother ,” he said.
