Leh, July 19: In accordance with clause 20 of section 202 of CHAPTER-XI Bye-Laws under the J&K Municipal Act, 2000, the Municipal Committee of Leh has issued a public notice mandating the registration of all pet dogs within the Municipal Limits of Leh town. Pet owners are required to register their dogs at the Municipal Committee office by August 15, 2024.
According to an order in exercise of the power conferred by clause 20 of section 202 of the CHAPTER- XI Bye-Laws of the J&K Municipal Act, 2000, it is notified for the information of general public of Leh town that pet dog owners within the Municipal Limits of Leh town are required to get their pet dogs register in the office of the Municipal Committee, Leh by 15h August 2024.
The non-compliance of this notice by the pet dog owners in Leh town will be penalized by Rs.1000/- and non-registered pet dogs shall not be entertained for vaccination and sterilization at the Veterinary clinics at Skara and Changspa by Animal Husbandry Department, Leh, the order reads.
