Leh, Jan 30: Ladakh tourism made a strong pitch for its unique travel experiences at the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2025, one of India and Asia’s premier travel trade shows, currently underway at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, by showcasing adventure and rich culture.
An official told Rising Kashmir that the Ladakh Tourism Pavilion was inaugurated by officials from the Department of Tourism, UT Ladakh, alongside tourism stakeholders from Leh and Kargil. “The exhibition serves as a crucial platform for Ladakh’s tourism industry to engage with domestic and international travel professionals, highlighting the region’s diverse offerings,” the official said.
At OTM 2025, Ladakh’s delegation is showcasing a variety of attractions, including adventure tourism, cultural experiences, boutique hotels, guesthouses, and eco-friendly travel options. With its breathtaking landscapes, high-altitude trekking routes, Buddhist monasteries, and vibrant local culture, Ladakh has positioned itself as a top destination for both adventure seekers and cultural travellers.
Stakeholders from the region are also promoting specialised tourism products such as winter tourism, wildlife expeditions, and sustainable travel initiatives. Given the growing global interest in eco-tourism and responsible travel, Ladakh is emphasising its efforts in preserving its fragile ecosystem while offering world-class travel experiences.
OTM is recognised as a key networking platform for tourism boards, travel agencies, and hospitality providers, offering Ladakh Tourism the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, tour operators, and potential investors. “By participating in such a high-profile event, Ladakh aims to attract more tourists, increase collaborations with travel agencies, and enhance its presence in both national and international travel markets,” a stakeholder said.
The tourism sector in Ladakh has seen significant developments in recent years, with improved connectivity, better infrastructure, and government initiatives aimed at boosting sustainable tourism. However, challenges such as seasonal limitations and environmental concerns remain key areas of focus for stakeholders. OTM 2025, will continue until February 1 at the Jio World Convention Centre. “The Ladakh tourism Pavilion is located at booth number J-X128, where visitors can explore the region’s diverse travel options and interact with representatives from the tourism department and local businesses,” the stakeholder said. The event is expected to open new avenues for collaborations and drive greater interest in Ladakh’s unique tourism landscape.
