Kargil: Ladakh Snowshoe team shines in Khelo India Winter Games, bags 7 medals inter games at Famous SKI Resort Gulmarg in North Kashmir
The players of Snowshoe Association Ladakh won 1 Gold, 2 Silver Medal and 4 Bronze medals which is the 1st official team of Ladakh in Snowshoe events and remained at the overall 2nd position in medal tally after J&K.
LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan congratulated the Team of Snowshoe Association for winning 7 medals in the National Event.
He further said that Kargil in Ladakh will be an alternative for winter sports in India and has already become an international winter destination.
Hailing the skills of the players, the CEC said there is no dearth of talent in the district to uplift the game at national and international platforms. Keeping in view the talent and enthusiasm of players, he said LAHDC Kargil is committed to develop world-class sports infrastructure.
President Snow Shoe Association Ladakh Shahnawaz Habib Var congratulated the athletes for their remarkable achievement and lauded the efforts of the coach Sajjad Hussain.
Shahnawaz Var thanked CEC LAHDC Kargil for his support to the team and for encouraging the players while leaving out for the Nationals from Ladakh.
In Senior Girls, ZarenaBanoo Won 2 Silver Medals, one each in Long 3km and Sprint 800 Meters.
In senior boys Sajjad Hussain won Bronze Medal in 5 Km and Ghulam Ali Won Bronze Medal in 800 Meters Sprint.
In junior boys, Ghulam Hyder won Gold in Long 5km and Bronze in Sprint 800 Meters and MohdTaqui won Bronze Medal in Sprint 400 meters.
