Srinagar, June 24: Due to the continuous rise in temperatures over the past few days across the Union Territory, the University of Kashmir on Tuesday has announced summer vacations for all private colleges affiliated with the university from June 25 to July 4, 2025.

The Assistant Registrar of the College Development Council stated that all private colleges affiliated with the University of Kashmir located in the Kashmir Division are to observe a summer break from June 25, 2025, to July 4, 2025.

“All teaching and non-teaching staff shall be available in the college as needed. Additionally, the library will remain open for students during the summer vacation period,” the Assistant Registrar said

On June 23, the Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir revised the summer vacation schedule for all Government Degree Colleges in the Kashmir Division due to the recent increase in daytime temperatures.

The summer break for all Government Degree Colleges in the Kashmir Valley will now be observed from June 24 to July 3, 2025, replacing the previously announced dates of July 15 to July 24, 2025.

The School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has also announced the earlier summer vacations for schools in the Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of the Jammu Division, which will be from June 23 to July 7, 2025.
